Title: Latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction For head-neck, breast, skin and soft tissue tumors At dr. M.Djamil hospital padang

Abstract

Background: The latissimus dorsi is one of the largest and strongest muscles in the body. The latissimus dorsi flap (LDF) can help restore form and function in reconstructing the closure of the defect.
Purpose and Objectives: Latissimus dorsi flap transfer is indicated for reconstructing large head-neck, and trunk defects. LDF is often used for delayed reconstruction in breast cancer with previous radiation, or as a subsequent reconstruction procedure in patients with previously failed reconstructions.
Method: We herein report a patient who underwent reconstruction with a latissimus dorsi flap in head-neck, breast, skin and soft tissue tumors at Dr. M. Djamil Central General Hospital, Padang.
Result and Conclusion: The first case reported 80 years old man with squamous cell carcinoma et region left preauricular T3N0M0 which underwent wide excision, VC free margin and reconstruction with LDF. The second case is invasive lobular left breast cancer grade II T4bN0M0 post NACT (partial response) in 40 years old women which underwent left breast conserving treatment and reconstruction with LDF. The third case is undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma et right scapula region T3N0M0 in 73 years old men which underwent wide excision, VC free margin and reconstruction with LDF.
