Title: Possibilities of combined endoscopic surgery in the treatment of patients with stenosing malignant tumors of the trachea and large bronchi

Abstract

Combined method of endotracheobronchial surgery with the use of high-tech recanalization and stenting procedures has been developed for patients with stenosing tracheobronchial cancer. From 1991 to 2023, 430 patients with stenosing malignant tumors of the trachea and large bronchi were treated. At the first stage of treatment, in order to restore airway patency the following interventions were implemented: mechanical cutting of the tumor in 0.2% of cases; Nd:YAG laser destruction in 25.6%; APC in 24.9%; electroresection in 9.3%; PDT in 5.7%, as well as their combination in 34.3%. At the second stage of treatment, taking into account the stage and histological structure, an open surgery, combined radiation therapy or endoscopic stenting were performed.

Biography

Larisa Telegina defended her doctoral dissertation at the age of 50 at the P.A. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute. She has been the head of the group of endoscopic diagnostics and surgery of respiratory tumors at this institute for more than 30 years and has more than 200 publications in this area, an h-index of 17. She has the highest international professional award, the Ikeda-Dotai gold medal.
