Presentation Title:

Cryoablation in the Management of Breast Cancer

Abstract

Cryoablation or tumor freezing is emerging as a minimally invasive alternative to breast conserving surgery for the management of breast cancer.  In addition to reducing the morbidity of breast cancer surgery, this office-based, percutaneous procedure reduces the psychosocial and cosmetic impact of breast cancer therapy by eliminating the need for surgical resection.  In the presentation, I will discuss the technical considerations of cryoablation as well as the evolving indications for early and advanced stage breast cancer in the context of patient centered care.
