The role of preliminary antibacterial sanitation in the preoperative and postoperative periods in pelvic evisceration using a VRAM flap in cancer patients
Abstract
Evisceration of the pelvic organs applying a VRAM flap for cancer patients is an operation that is accompanied by an extensive removal of organs and, as a result, a fairly high level of injury. In recent years, there has been a strong tendency of increasing the incidence of pelvic cancer all over the world. The studies aimed at reducing the incidence of complications and increasing the life expectancy of cancer patients after this method of surgical treatment still remain relevant, thus being of great medical and social importance. The objective of the study lies in determining the effectiveness of using crops on a bacterial flora with subsequent antibacterial therapy during preoperative and postoperative periods.
