Abstract
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is a global public health crisis. Many reports indicate disappointing results in cancer patients compared to the general population. Therefore, experts in the management of oncohematological malignancies from the INEN, public hospitals, and a private clinic in Lima-Peru have developed recommendations obtained by consensus to continue with the management of patients with oncohematological neoplasms safely in the face of the pandemic. The main neoplasms discussed were acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome. The recommendations were focusing to prevent the nosocomial infection and person to person transmission. Therefore, oral administration were most advisedly for indolent or chronic conditions, also, we suggested intermediate doses of chemotherapy and the least number of cycles. Definitely, we think, the implementation of this recommendation were the best strategy in order to continue the oncohematological management of our patients.
